The Summer Makeup Dilemma

Summer is here…time at the pool, baseball games, backyard barbeques, and the dreaded St. Louis heat and humidity. If you’re anything like me, with the heat and humidity comes the “shiny face.” I feel like I’m constantly pulling out my compact to check my T-zone to make sure it doesn’t look like someone just doused it with baby oil. It’s a chain reaction then, because as well all know, the more you pull out your compact, the more likely you are to have the “caked-on” look.
This summer, for the first time since I started wearing makeup, I will be breaking the chain. No, I haven’t decided to give up all together and go without makeup for the summer. I started using Glominerals makeup. Now I know you’re thinking “oh here we go, just another sales pitch”, but I’m not trying to sell it to you-I’m not even a makeup artist or esthetician. I’m simply sharing-what I think is a miracle product-with you.
I’ve tried other mineral makeup in the past, with no avail. I’ve been a department store makeup consumer since I was thirteen years old, but this past January, I started breaking out. I had recently started a rigorous workout routine, one that included hot yoga (a type of yoga in which you sweat constantly for over an hour). However, I was washing my face before and after my workouts, along with in the morning and before I went to bed. My esthetician suggested I start moisturizing more, since I was washing my face more, but even that didn’t do the trick. I even stopped using my Clarisonic (GASP!) for two weeks to see if that was causing my breakouts (it of course wasn’t). It took several months of experimenting before my esthetician convinced me it might be my makeup. I couldn’t imagine why, I had been using the same brand for over seven years, but I then realized upon changing my workout routine, I may have changed the kind of reaction my skin had to the foundation.
After a little research, I learned it was possible my makeup wasn’t coming all the way off before hot yoga, causing my foundation to absorb deeper into my pores. I wasn’t about to stop my yoga or stop wearing foundation. My esthetician suggested Glominerals, if it absorbed deeper into my pores, it would be okay since it was mineral-based. I was skeptical considering I had a bad experience with mineral makeup in the past and I preferred a liquid foundation. SURPRISE! Glominerals has a liquid foundation! I was still a little skeptical, but I decided to let her match my skin and go from there. She primed my skin with the Gloprimer, applied the foundation and finished with a little blush and bronzer. I was in love! It looked so natural and I didn’t feel like I was wearing makeup. In the past, my foundation felt slightly heavy, especially in hot weather, Glominerals didn’t. I have since received so many compliments on my skin. Just yesterday I came into work and my boss asked if I had a facial the day before because my skin looked so good and glowing, I told her I just switched to Glominerals.
If you dread the “shiny face” as much as I do, I highly recommend you give Glominerals a try…you might just be as pleasantly surprised as I was.
